Front Page is showing content from other pages (not blog posts)

I’m working on this site: Old House Parts and for some reason the front page is showing content from the Announcements page. It is currently set up to show posts, but since these are not blog posts, but pages (Nothing is listed under posts, I checked.) I don’t see why that would affect it.
It’s wordpress version is 2.9.2 and apparently it breaks if upgrading is attempted. The theme is oldhouseparts by anonymous for whatever help that gives.
