Front page icons disappeared after recent update

After my website auto-updated the WP version recently (around January 7th is when I noticed it), I got the white screen of death. The splash screen WOULD show up if I logged in. I eventually took all plugins offline and got it mostly back to how it was after spending a lot of time fixing and redoing.

But one thing I can’t get to show up is the icons on the front page. If I go to add a custom image as an icon, then both the image and the icon shows up. But when I remove the image, they both disappear.

I have a child theme. The icons don’t show up when I switch over to Aaron Theme though. I believe I’ve allocated 96MB of memory to this site.

Please let me know if any more info needed or if you’ve dealt with this issue.
