Front-page Hero Text Disappeared – could really use a hand

    Hi guys,

    I’m building a child theme based on Edin – this is my first attempt. I’ve been adding custom css to the widgets and forms and other areas. And have stumbled upon a problem I can’t get myself out of.

    The homepage has a nice full-width hero image. And in the parent Edin theme – this hero is overlayed with the text that has been put in the Page Text Editor.

    For some reason, my child-theme is no longer showing this text. Instead – the hero image has a shorter height (due to the disappeared text).

    I can’t figure out what has happened and any help would be great .I’m not familiar with the php or css involved regarding that specific module of the theme. The primary text in the hero really made the website stand out like I intended it to, and is now missing.

    I’m led to an error when visiting the link you provided. Would you please be able to reply back with the link to your live site?

    It sounds like some change made in your child theme caused the text to disappear. Could you try reverting some previous changes? If you can provide the link to the live site in addition to details on the files you’ve changed in your child theme, I’ll be happy to take a deeper look too.

    I was playing around with it for quite a while. I probably changed some margin somewhere by accident. I decided to start over and try to organise it a bit so this doesn’t happened again.

    That sounds like a good plan! Let us know if any questions come up along the way.
