Front page – Excerpt

Got it:

Just to make it easier for people coming in off of search engines (Like me). This is the final code you need

<?php if ($post->post_excerpt) :
$output = $output = $post->post_excerpt;
$output .= ' <a href="'.get_permalink().'" rel="bookmark" title="Read the rest of '.the_title("","",false).'">Continue reading...</a>';
echo apply_filters('the_excerpt',$output);
else:
the_content();
endif;
?>

You need to change the main index.php file in your main theme directory
