• Hi,

My wordpress site has been working perfectly, but suddenly all I see on the front page is ERROR:// Can Not Read. The strange thing is that all the pages actually work fine – just as long as they are not designated as the front page. So while https://www.example.com displays the error, creating a copy of the front page at https://www.example.com/copy works fine.

So, replacing another page as the front page does not work, and neither does setting newest articles as the front page.

Ideas :)? The site is running WP 3.8.5 and a modified Twenty Eleven theme. I tried disabling plugins one by one but have yet to install any updates.

    Best wishes,
    Ans

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Twelve theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
