    Hi there,

This seems to be a great plugin! I’ve created an album to show on a specific site and have allowed users access to upload their own photos in the Settings. When I add the album to the page, there is no front end uploader to be found. It is an empty album, with no images, as I mean for the users to fill it with photos over time. But without a way to upload on the front end, this cannot be done..

I thought it perhaps was a confict with other plugins or with my theme, but after deactivating absolutetly all plugins (except WP Poto Album Plus) and trying out both TwentyFifteen and TwentyFourteen themes, it still wouldn’t show. How can this be? Have I missed anything in the settings?

    Thanks,
    Havard

On the Photo Albums -> Edit adlbum information,
set the Owner of the album to — public —
This will make it possible for all users to upload into that album.

Normally, users can only upload to their own albums.
If you do not want users to be able to create albums, there is a solution so every logged in user will get an album. How this works can be read here

Hm.. I changed the owner of the album to public and I followed the steps in your link, but I still can’t get the frontend uploader to show.. Again I deactivated all plugins and changed theme to check…

You can have a look here.. This is with all plugins off and TwentyFourteen theme: https://wildworldcommunity.com/lion-panthera-leo/

You see the empty album there with “No photos found matching your search criteria.” This is fine, as it is supposed to be empty for now, but shouldn’t there be an uploader beneath?

What is the shortcode on the page?

Try ( assuming your album id is 1 ):

    [wppa type="thumbs" album="1"][/wppa]

My shortcode was different, as I wanted a slider (amongst a few oter things). But even with the shortocde you provided there is no difference. No uploader shows..

You can not upload to a slideshow, only to an album cover or a thumbnail display.

Normally, you need to have more than a certain number of photos in an album to display them. This is to be able to have cover phot(2) in a parent album with only sub-albums.
If you tick the box in Table II-D18, the thumbnail area is also shown for ’empty’ albums.

Tick the box in Table II-D18, and try these shortcodes:

    [wppa type="cover" album="1"][/wppa]

    to show the cover,
    and

    [wppa tyoe="thumbs" album="1"][/wppa]

    to show the thumbnails.

If the album is going to have photos and sub-albums, use shortcode:

    [wppa type="content" album="1"][/wppa]

( assuming album id is 1, else fill in the album id )

If you use the most simple generic shortcode:

    [wppa][/wppa]

you will see the covers of all albums that have their parent set to — none —. This should also show the upload link.

    Ok, thanks that worked!
