Front-End submission for a specific category

I plan on using two categories – “our events” and “community events”. How might I set up the front-end form so that all submissions from Anonymous/subscriber users are assigned the Community Events category? Is it as simple as adding a hidden field to the form, and if so what is the proper way to target a specific category?
