I’m using the paid version and have configured WP-Mail-SMTP to send mail. It’s been tested but front-end wont send message to the person registering on the site. It will send a message to the admin but that email is on the same server. SMTP is configured without a username and password. Should I put one in to get it to go out to another server? I’ve also looked and watched all your video’s, which are great, but there is no configuration for the email tab in the back-end, why is that? I’ve tried multiple ways to enter the email address field into the first box thinking that was the problem but nothing seems to work. Help would be appreciated…..

    Hi Micro,

Is the first box you’re referring to the “Email Field Name” box? Here you need to put the name of your email field exactly as it shows in the “Fields” tab. For example, if your email field is called “Email” in the “Fields” tab, then, in the “Email Field Name” box, you’d need to write “Email”.

For the SMTP, if you have it set to “Yes: Use SMTP authentication”, then you’ll need to put in your username (usually your full email address) and your password. In our experience, most of the time you do need to have the Authentication set to “Yes: Use SMTP authentication” for it to work properly.

The “Email Field Name” is “Email Address” and there are no brackets around it or anything. I have configured the WP-Mail-SMTP to use SMTP but with no authentication and sent a test email about 5 time to different email addresses, they all worked. I get an email, as I said before, to the admin but nothing is sent to the person registering. I need to get this fixed very soon. I have over 50 people registered already but like I said its not letting them know their authorized and signed up. Thank you for your help in advance!!!

    Hi Micro,

Do you have “Send Sign Up Emails” set to “Yes” in the “Basic” area of the “Options” tab?

Yes, it is and I’m pretty sure I’ve got it setup right. Is there a way you guys can check it out?

    Hi Micro,

We’ve definitely checked it out and tested it on both our development sites and our demo sites and can’t recreate the issue in which the admin email sends, but not the one to the user.

That being said, would you be able to let me know what you have for the content of your sign up email (i.e. what you have for “Registration Message Body” in the “Emails” tab)? Maybe there is something there that is either spammy or has broken or conflicted code. If you try something really simple for this message (e.g. just write “testing”), does it work?

Also, just to confirm, the name of your email field in the “Fields” tab is “Email Address”, and this is exactly what you’ve written in the “Email Field Name” box in the “Emails” tab?

    Thank you

Should I give you the info to login and take a look?

    Hi Micro,

At this point, it doesn’t really make any sense. With all my options set correctly, I just can’t make it so that only the admin email sends, but not the one to the user. But, if you’d like, you can send us login credentials to [email protected] (if you do, make sure you reference this thread) and we’ll see if we can take a look.
