Front end numeric searching?

  • I followed the instructions in the other notes section on changing a field from tinytext to DECIMAL, with 2,0 giving me values of 1-99. When I do a search on the field in the admin for “1”, I get the expected results.
    When I run the same search in front end, I get a string search, returning all values with a “1” in them. I’m using a custom template, but only to preset the desired value in the search box.

    P.S. I do not have Strict User Searching turned on, since I do not want this for any other searches.

    You’ll need to customize your search to do something like this. You can either write your own search function or you can use a filter to alter the database query before it is used to generate the search results.
