Front-end Listing Editor – Category Selection

    I’ve found that when creating the listing in the front end “Submit a listing” the categories selection is available, but using the the front-end “Edit” listing screen, the category selection step is bypassed.

    Is there a way to enable this? It is inevitable that users will need to update or correct the category selection.

    We are not using the paid listings feature.

    Hi nhwp,

    The category selection is specifically bypassed for users because we tie fee plans to categories, so if a user posted a free listing and then later edited that to be in a paid category, well, that would be a problem. I understand that you’re not using paid listings here, but the feature doesn’t currently differentiate that behavior.

    Admins can always override this if a user makes a mistake, but that’s why you don’t see it available.

    I’d love to see it as a feature and I imagine it would be useful to all users of the plugin that don’t enable payments.

    If payments is disabled, allow category selection in editor.
