Front-End image upload, crop and resize

On a Front-End form the users should have the opportunity to upload an featured image, which will be shown on a custom post page. In order to look good users should be possible to resize and crop there image into a given format.

Right now my form has an input file type which will upload the image without crop / resize after the form is submitted. It would be great, if the image would have been upload inside the form, the users get a message “upload successful” and the uploaded image is shown as a thumbnail.

Is there a plugin? I guess its a very complicated function using php, ajax, jquery… I am using ULTIMATE MEMBER on the website, i am quite happy with their image upload and resize function, but unfortunately i guess its not possible to use this function in a non-um-form.
