  • Hi

    Font end ? Back End ? …..

I′m a designer and architect. My experience in developing web is quite extended from a visual and UI point of view. My coding is very limited. My clients don’t have any idea of this, and they don′t care about it. They hire people like me or others to take care of their visual & communicational problems. They want it easy, fast and cheap.

Having this in mind, my responsibility towards them is to give them a fluent work flow. Not complicated, just 5 minutes to know how things are going, and see what they have to do, and what I have done.

They hire me because of my work as a designer. If they go into my Admin side of word press is like telling them that I haven’t done the right work in designing my self a nice site, why should I do it for them.

Taking it to the front end is a must in this plug in. You can always use it in the back end as an administrator if you want. But my clients need to stay in the front end.

When you go and buy a nice car, you don’t go to the mining and factories to see how is the car build. You sit down in a nice sofa and drink the coffee they offer you.

    ??

We need and want a front end possibility. Other wise it is not useful for users like me. And I′m sure we would pay a small amount for that to happen.

P.D. Please make sure it is Responsive and Translatable (it opens up your possibilities of increasing the users)

    Thanks

So, Tareq… given everything that’s been said over the last couple of weeks, have we convinced you to build a front end yet?

Some perspective from an article I wrote some time ago: https://www.jmdezigns.com/2012/08/21/the-missing-wordpress-plugin-part-i/

    Hey Guys,

Frontend plugin for WP Project Manager released. It’s a separate plugin and it’s not *free* to download. You can purchase it from here.

Minimum version 0.4 of Project Manager plugin is required to work with frontend.

AWESOME!! I will purchase this soon and test it out. I will gladly promote it on my site as well if I find that it does the job well. Nevertheless, thank you Tareq for listening to our demands and responding positively and promptly. I will update my blog post (https://www.jmdezigns.com/2012/08/21/the-missing-wordpress-plugin-part-i/ ) to indicate that your plugin now has filled this gaping hole in for wordpress, after testing.

ps: the Plugin demo link on your site is not working.

Actually I haven’t put any demo because of spammers. Frontend is the same as backend, only without project creation feature.

Well done Tareq. Exactly what does the plugin allow one to view on the front end?

    Hi Tareq

    Good Job and thanks.

    2 questions

1.- Does it work with WPML?
    2.- Is it Responsive?

    Thanks

    (@tareq1988)

    1. I haven’t tested with WPML. It should be translatable. If the main plugin is translatable, then this one is too. Try and let me know.

    2. No, it’s not.

Question from a relative newbie to this forum thing(this is my second try) I will try to explain what I need. The thing is that I am new to creating a multi-purpose website called UnitingCreatives.com. I have had a helper working and building it, who has been unable to finish building it with me for family reasons…and I am striving to get certain things to work right. I’ve been a bit flummoxed.

Right now I have Buddy Press, Digital Access Pass, our blogging platform and a few other plugins on the site. And I am trying to get the forums to do what it appears that your platform is designed perfectly to do.

I am essentially a non-profit type of social commerce group working with volunteers to organize a community revisioning project. My people are not techies, they are community focussed people – and I need them to be able to access the site from the front end. I will have an array of people reading the progress, volunteering and participating in achieving the results. so I need to be able to control access to comment and work on it; and probably it will be password protected to paying members of the whole site. There will be a team leaders and we will be doing masterminding, then adding documments, videos, pictures and more…so that all the members can participate in building their project.

Can this work with those plugins? Or do I need to work with a different combination?

Please tell me all that I need to know…thanks. I think I can figure out how to go buy it and plug it in…and then maybe you can tell me what I need to know to make it work?

Joy, you posted this in the wrong place.

Go to the “plugins” section of the repository and do a search for “front end”. You find several capable plugins that should get you where you want, or close. Read carefully. Not only the plugins description, but the support section, and if they show a website for the plugin, go there as well. And perhaps even google up a search on Front End WordPress. The reason to be careful is of course, the front end is way more accessible and vulnerable, so whatever safeguards are recommended, by all means implement them before taking it live.

    Best of luck.

By the way, you might also work your way to the various WordPress groups on LinkedIn. Very helpful.

Bob…so where is the plugins section of the repository…and do a search for “front end”. I just bought the WP project manager and the front end thing that the Tareq just posted that he built. I assume it should work.
