Front and Back end return empty response after update

    After updating we experience intermittent empty responses. If I restart apache (service apache2 restart), the site comes back up. But after only 1 or 2 requests, it is back down again and I have to restart apache again.

    There are no errors in the apache error log and syslog doesn’t give any hints either.

    Scratch that… I think this was related to a geo-location plugin for comments. Something strange about the response was silently killing PHP through a CURL error – at least that is my best guess.
