HI I have just loaded your plug in and tested out sending an email to one of the users on my site.

I included in the body of he email the variable %FROM_NAME% and this is exactly what appeared in the email. Not name that the email is from “%FROM_NAME%”

So I dont think either I am using it right or the variables are not getting replaced properly.

I also want to use the username of the of the user I am sending to. for example:

    Dear %USER_NAME%, thank you for……

Is there such a variable for the users name ?

    Many thanks,

    Johnny B

I will have to look into the %FROM_NAME% issue and get back to you. There isn’t support for per user keywords so %USER_NAME% does not exist.

Email Users sends a single email to as many recipients as it can which means in most cases, there isn’t a single user receiving the email and thus a %USER_NAME% (or similar) substitution cannot be performed as there is no way to determine which user name to substitute in.

The closest thing you can do is set your BCC limit to 1 and tell Email Users to use the “To” field for addresses which will result in each user receiving a single email addressed to their email address.

I have a beta build available which fixes the %FROM_NAME% template issues. Can you check it out and report back?

I have released 4.6.9 which addresses this issue.
