    Hi all,

I am working on building a site using WAMP, but it my client who I am building the site for is self-hosting and considering suing Linux as their operating system. How will that affect my development and how it will work when it comes time for the site to go live?

Shouldn’t be a problem at all. But you will need to see:

Using a Linux host for the live site is a common and popular decision. As far as your development site issues -vs- live site issues, I doubt you’ll encounter anything that can’t be easily overcome (as far as WordPress is concerned).

WampServer uses Apache, not IIS, so the transition and operation of WordPress, for the most part, should probably be both familiar and fairly painless when it comes time to move the site.

[edit] ..also, what @wpyogi said ??

a bit of an aside – @claytonjames – LOL – well, you’re the server guru and gave a better reply anyway :)! Whenever I run into server issues, I always HOPE that you’ll come along and save me.

I agree @wpyogi but I advice that you should work your development site with xampp which is able run on a multi-platform operating system and also it is more lightier than wamp.
