I cannot change the From Address

    First of all, thank you for your great plugin, I managed to configure it, but I have a problem.

    I use GMail API and Post SMTP to send emails, I entered a different email address and a Name under ‘Message’ I ticked both fields to ‘Prevent plugins and themes from changing this’ but emails are NOT sent with the Name and email address I entered here, but with the GMail email address. So the from address is ‘[email protected]’ and the from name is ‘example’ taken from my google account.

    (When I expand the email the Reply-to field is OK, it shows my desired Name and email address by the way!)

    Please help me why is this, and what should I do to fix this?

  • Hi @attila73,

    This is not recommended – what you are suggesting is “spoofing” the Gmail address to show another email address. The change of sender email is likely happening on Google’s side rather than the plugin.

    If you want to send from a specific domain, then you need to send from an SMTP user on that domain (whichever mail service they are using). Gmail accounts (notG Suite) can only show as @gmail.com addresses.
