Fresh install wont connect to rss on dashboard or plugin search

  • I have just installed a fresh copy of 3.4.1 and the dashboard is showing: RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: couldn't connect to host under incoming links, wordpress blog and other wordpress news.

    I can not search plugins or tools > import > xxxx for same error: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

    both Curl and fopen is enabled on the server with 128M memory limit.
