Fresh install – Feed images inconsistent

Okay.. so I’ve messed with this all day and still no luck.. I am not getting images in excerpts when I should and the plugin IS NOT displaying the category image when there is not article image as it should..

My “Default category image setting” setting is: “Replace articles with no image with default category image”

Except that’s not happening…

give me an RSS feed and a default image URL and I’ll try making this work on my web site.

This feed is a forum feed so there will be a fair bit of content with no images in the content so I would expect to see the default image for the forum category display:

The 1st two posts should have images, but if the plugin isn’t going to pull the images from the content, I would expect to see the default image show.

Messed around with this some more, and CLEARLY the issue seems to be with the “Boxes” template.. Using this template the images are not being displayed consistently.. I am STUMP as to why..

If you look at the “Drag Racing News On The Web” section here: https://clientanamma(dot)divawebdzgn(dot)com/, you will see that the “Boxes” template is NOT displaying images correctly..

However, if I switch to pretty much any of the other templates then the image display works fine.. Looking at this SAME feed on this page: https://clientanamma(dot)divawebdzgn(dot)com/articles/, you will see that the images display as expected.

I REALLY need this to work with the “Boxes” template.. ANY suggestions here????

Well I STILL have this issue 2 weeks later, and needed to come up with a solution for my client.. Try as I might to make this plugin work it just didn’t, and there has been no response to my posts regarding the issues I am having…. So I took a look at WP RSS Aggregator instead..

After installing the WP RSS Aggregator, I can see CLEARLY that there is an issue with this plugin and the “Boxes” template. Not only do the images not show consistently, the social icons fail to show. Additionally in comparing the two plugins side by side, the pagination feature of this plugin leaves a LOT to be desired as well IMHO.. Since all of this is a HUGE part of my client’s layout needs, I’ve had to go with WP RSS Aggregator to solve my issues..

For all my other clients using this plugin, I’m gonna probably roll them ALL back to an earlier version of this plugin, and look out for a future version to see if these issue get resolved.. This client was willing to pay for a commercial solution to his issues.. Will have to test to find a version that works (and is NOT the version that destroyed my site by deleting posts)..
