Fresh Install 4.0.1 Can't See Text in Editor

  • I just did a fresh install of ver. 4.0.1 on a server with Aplus.Net.
    Went to the sample page and cannot see the text in the editor. Cannot type new test either. Cannot switch to Page Builder too.

  • Could you try deactivating all plugins and re-testing to see if the posts editor begins to work as expected?

    having the same problem (also using aplus.net), and I did an entire re-install of wordpress.

    i also cant add media, the button doesn’t work- wont do anything.

    This is a new install, no plugins have been added, nor turned on. No templates have been added. This is a RAW WP 4.0.1 install. Is this a WP problem or an Aplus.Net problem? I am exploring the situation with Aplus.Net. I see NOTHING at the WP forums, although I see some fury at the Elegant Themes forums. I am not so sure it is an ET problem, but rather WP is the issue here.

    If this issue is not resolved today, I will move on to another web site building program. Time is money for me.

    Talked with Aplus. Apparently this problem is plaguing Aplus customers. Tons of support tickets written. Although Aplus doesn’t support WP, they are looking into the problem in hopes of helping there customers. Noble effort. So, it looks like the problem comes back to WP as the culprit with this issue.

    Can you see what version of PHP you’re using on Aplus.Net?

    Aplus uses PHP 5.0. Why?

    Does anyone know if this problem has been resolved. My blog is hosted by APlus and I am now hesitant to upgrade to WP 4.01. BTW, I experienced the above problem without upgrading to 4.01. The problem surfaced without me making any changes to my blog. It happened after a period of inactivity. The problem then disappeared on it’s own. But now I am afraid to upgrade because you all say it happened after you upgraded. That may have merely been a co-incidence. I had the problem and did not upgrade or make any changes to my blog whatsoever.

    I may just call APlus and see if I can get a straight answer from them. Previously they gave me some double talk about WP being a third party application. (DER!)

    Yocaboca – I ended up called APlus and they fixed this issue for me in a few hours and even called me back to let me know it was resolved. I would back up your site, install the upgrade and see what happens. If the problems stated here does happen to you, they seem to know exactly what to do on their end to solve it.
