Fresh hostgator install not working

  • I just recently got a Hostgator account, and have plans to start a blog with it. I have tried installing WordPress 3.0.1 using two of their automated tools, QuickInstall and Fantastico. Each time I have a log of the install sent to my email, saying it completed successfully, but when going to the login, example : “https://mydomain/wordpress/wp-admin”, no login pops up. It just shows the dummy site, “this will soon be a homepage”, and doesn’t prompt for a login.

    I have a feeling something isn’t right with one of the php files, but I know nothing about php, and could use some help. If it means anything, I used chrome to install everything 3 different times, twice with Fantastico and once with QuickIntstall. Nothing has worked.
