• I found a weird problem with Virtue. It’s actually a conflict with UberMenu mega menu plugin, some of the menu items wouldn’t show. After alot of tweaking, turning plugins on/off etc., with no result I tried the whole thing on another server with fresh WP, Virtue and UberMenu installation and everything worked out of the box. BUT… when I started making tweaks in the child theme of Virtue everything went back to bad. Again, I switched to the parent Virtue and the menu was working. To be sure I didn’t mess something, I made fresh new child theme with only style.css with the following content:

    /*
    Theme Name: Virtue – Child
    Theme URI:  https://kadencethemes.com/product/virtue-free-theme/
    Description: Child theme for Virtue.
    Author: Kadence Themes
    Author URI: https://www.kadencethemes.com/
    Template: virtue
    Version: 2.5.6
    */

    No luck, It simply doesn’t work. If I switch to the parent theme everything works, but switching to the child one messes my menu.

    Does anyone has some ideas what could be wrong? Many thanks in advance!

  • Hey so menus are saved in wordpress on a theme by theme basis. and that includes a child theme. If you activate a child theme you still have to set up that menu separate from the parent because wordpress considers it a new theme,

    So my question when you activate the child theme are you making sure to re-set up your menu completely like you have when the parent theme is activate? Including your uber menu settings?

    Next can you post a link so I can see what the error is?

    Also just to make sure it’s clear the only thing in your child theme is the style.css file?
