    Hello.

    I remember reading somewhere (but don’t remember where) that deleting AO’s cache often is bad for some reason, so I’d like to ask you if that’s the case. If yes, why is that?

    Well, not BAD, but I would advise against doing it too frequently as:
    * new requests will see Autoptimize re-combine & minify CSS/ JS (which has an impact on the server response time)
    * if you use page caching, Autoptimize will ask known page caches to purge their cache to avoid cached pages referring to CSS/ JS that is no longer there, rebuilding page cache also takes time & impacts server response time
    * if your page cache is unknown to AO, you’ll have to clear it manually, else the site may be broken

    I understand. On the other hand, not deteling AO’s cache when changing something is probably bad as old requests go 404. Right?

    No, as AO *sees* changes and will simply create new Autoptimized JS/ CSS files.
