    Hello,

I have improved the French translation of Serge Rauber (kalyx.fr).

I tried to contact him in order to know how to share the job with the community. At that time I’ve no answer.

How can I share the file knowing that my part represent 4 or 5%?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I also contacted him. Unfortunately you cannot redistribute his file with your changes, because there is no license statement.

    No.

Does it means we are stuck. There will be no French translation?

You can still translate one beginning with nothing.
And you can use, but not publicly distribute (!) your edited version.

However you can arguably build on his version. The translation is derived from version 14.6, which is a GPL version. GPL says that you can only redistribute modified versions of a work (the work in this case is the untranslated pot file) under the same license (copyleft). And Serge Rauber also states on his site: “le fichier de traduction original que vous pouvez modifiez avec poedit”.

If you submit your edited version with copyright statements like in the already available translation files (with his and your name), I would include it. But you bear the legal issues if you do.

    OK,

How can I give you the file ?

Create a GitHub account, clone https://github.com/bgermann/cforms2

Then add the file in your clone and pull request me.

GitHub has good tutorials on the steps, if you do not kno how to do it.

I just had a phone conversation with Serge Rauber. He is ok that we use his translation.

He asked me to send it to him in order he publishes it on his web site: https://wp.kalyx.fr/plugins/cforms-ll

That’s very nice of you, thanks!

I put the French translation on GitHub.

    Enjoy,
