You get what you pay for, free hosting is not the best way to go. Many hosts are low-cost, only a few dollars a month – about the price of a cup of coffee! If you really don’t want to pay for hosting, I suggest using https://www.wordpress.com instead of www.remarpro.com

    I want a FTP access so I don’t use wordpress.com …
Until my website will get more traffic, what free web hosting do you recommend?

I don’t recommend any type of free web hosting. If wordpress.com’s free service is not enough for your needs, I suggest you purchase hosting.

Use https://x10hosting.com if you looking for a good Free Host, with cPanel 11 and other stuff to download WordPress.

Bottom line: If you want free hosting use WordPress.com – otherwise use a commercial host. Decent shared hosting is not expensive.

    Howdy,

Well, I want “this” and I want “that” but I don’t want to pay for it.

I mean, really, why even bother?

If you just want to “play around”, load it on a local host and fill your boots. If you are serious and want to have a ‘real site’, then pony up, like the rest of us.

Oh yeah, and then when you run into trouble, come running here for “free” advice.

Sorry for the rant, but I just can’t take too much of these types any more ??

For “gawds sakes alive, “Ethel”, you can get one full year of “real” hosting at HostGator for 47.52 USD.

If what you want to “say” is not worth this amount, why should your questions be worth anything more? ??

    Cheers!

Gotta hit some middle ground here. Until a month ago, I would have said the same thing as the naysayers.

But now I see that free web hosting has its place. In my case, I found it useful to run Open Source web site monitoring software that gave me more control over things than any affordable service out there. After all, you can’t install web monitoring on the same host as what you are monitoring!

I, too, ended up with x10hosting.com. While I wouldn’t classify it as “good”, it is probably as “acceptable” as you are going to find. By my standards, response time is slow all the time. Sometimes unbearably so. And you can forget about getting outgoing e-mails to work; it is forever getting tagged as a spammer.

If you put WordPress on x10, you are going to frustrate your visitors with the slow response.

On the other hand, if all you want is a place to test before you put out your hard earned money for paid hosting, why not use the 30-100 day money-back guarantees of a paid host you will want to use eventually anyway? That is how I selected my last host. Lots of research, but it took actually signing up before I knew what it “really” was like. Went through three hosts before I found one that was even acceptable to my needs, all in the course of 24 hours. Been happy for 2 1/2 years now, so it was worth the effort.

Now closing this thread to avoid the usual spam.
