The free version is only useful if you have a parent category with no subcategories. In the category options it only lets you choose the main categories, but there is no way to choose child categories. For example, if you have the category Tools, and within this you have the subcategories Hammers, screwdrivers, etc. The plugin only lets you choose the parent category (Tools) and since it has no products (because it is organized by subcategories) it does not show anything.

I understand that the paid version may be very interesting, but the problem is that this limitation of the free version makes it almost useless. How many ecommerces do you know that have such a basic organization of categories? (only one parent category without sub categories)

    Hi @dtemporetti,

    Thanks for your feedback.

It seems that you’re disappointed with the plugin’s limited features. We agree that the lite version has limited features but you can create an attractive category sliver with the existing features of the plugin.

Giving a bad review to a plugin for the limited feature is really unfortunate as it is a lite version. The Pro version is to maintain the developers’ cost so that we can keep continuing contribution to the community. We are continuously working to improve our plugins and give the best experience to our users.

As the plugin didn’t harm your website, we hope that you’ll consider revising your reviews to inspire us so that we can make it full of advanced features our valuable users want.

    Have a nice day!

Hi, the rating of plugins is not limited to whether the plugin harm the site or not…obviusly…

I consider that the function that the user can choose any product category to show in the slider is the most basic function of a plugin called “Category Slider for Woocommerce”, and therefore it must be possible in any version (free or paid). It is the most basic, if not the plugin becomes useless.

My rating is only so that users who are looking for a plugin with this functionality, do not waste the time I wasted installing and trying to guess how to add categories only to find i cant…at least i cant choose.

BUT…in the case that I have made a mistake, and the plugin DOES allow the most basic thing which would be to add any category to the slider (as its name indicates), of course I will change the rating, apologize and I will explain my mistake . Just let me know if it’s my mistake.
