• The first version I installed allowed photos in posts. Now this is a paid feature. Be prepared for basic ‘free’ bundle to reduce features. Secondly first version came with a ‘community’ of users which I had to personally delete from my site. The free version is a better way to interact/comment on your wordpress site, that is about it.

While “feature rich” is a subjective feeling, some of the things you mention are unfortunately simply untrue.

Photos were never a part of the free plugin, all that users could do was add avatars and covers.

PeepSo does not add (and never did) any site members – it only inherits whatever users you already might have had.

As for features, the free product receives updates continuously – over the years, previously paid plugins like Reactions, Blogposts, Moods, Mentions, Hashtags were merged into the free Foundation at no cost. Just to mention a few new features in the free plugin – saved posts, name based avatars, new login/registration security measures.

And our Bundles are receiving constant price cuts and plugin extensions. For example the Basic Bundle used to be 4 plugins at $150, now is 6 plugins at $99. Starter was cut from 250 to 200 and got an extra plugin. The Ultimate Bundle used to be 350, now is 300 and we constantly add new plugins to it. All of them have the free Gecko theme included.
