It is sleazy to list a “free-trial only” plugin in the WP repository, especially if you do not mention right at the top of the description that it is a free TRIAL only and requires a paid account after the first month. In fact you don’t mention it at all in the repository description! Someone needs to click through to your own website to find this out. In fact, not only do they need to read through your own website’s homepage carefully, but they need to then click onto your “pricing” page before they learn that there is no real free version. Please don’t waste people’s time by hiding that fact. That’s underhanded, and goes against the spirit of www.remarpro.com.

  • I can only wholeheartedly agree. There’s nothing wrong with trying to make some profit of a plugin. After all, it takes a lot of work. But please be open about it and don’t try to lure users into using it, it’s basically useless if a user doesn’t want to pay. If it was up to me, I’d like to have commercial plugins banned in the WP.org repository.
