    Hello everyone,

I tried to edit the following files and it broke the theme:

    header.php
    functions.php
    footer.php

I deleted all the eval64 code from those files and the theme didn’t like that one bit.

I uploaded the unadulterated original 3 files, and the theme still broke the site when activated. I can still see WP-admin etc, but visitors see the broken site.

I’m running multisite and I re-installed WP core and the same Theme after dropping the tables with the prefix for the particular site, but it still looked broken.

Right now it’s using the default theme and I’m sad.

I still want to use the theme.

    Can anyone please help?

    UPDATE!!!

I think the server caches the deleted pages/database because the theme is working now, but I still want to change the footer.

How can I edit the footer without breaking the site?

What theme is it and where did it come from?

Themes with encrypted code are generally best avoided.

    It’s called AutoStyle.

Most of the code is regular PHP but there are a couple of eval64 statements sprinkled within the .php files.

Can you help me edit the footer?

According to this site [ redacted theme link ], their themes are not released under the GPL license… so you won’t get support here for that theme (WP and forum policy).

Any theme from that site will not be supported here and should be avoided like a bad infection.

@jedh6567, consider getting a theme from a reputable site. That whole site should be avoided.

    OOps…sorry about posting the link!

@wpyogi, no, it’s all good! It just irks me that bad theme providers that pull stunts like that.

If anything, mine was an overreaction. ?? But as I said, I really dislike what those themes do.
