Free Shipping with Condition not working

  • Hi,

    Since last WooCommerce update the “Free Shipping” with a condition is no longer working properly.

    We set “Free Shipping” to United States, though this one has a condition for free shipping on orders over $35.

    If the amount is of $35 and over the shipping zone works fine, though if it under $35 it says “No shipping options were found for address_here”.

    I have another shipping zone for Thailand that is completely free and this one works just fine.

    If I add a “Flat Rate” option to United States, along with “Free Shipping” option for orders of $35 and over, then the “Flat Rate” is applied for orders below $35.

    Though, the two options are shown when the order is of $35 and over.

    If I understand you correctly, you set the Free Shipping option to be displayed when orders reached the minimum amount of $35 and above. However, it is showing No shipping options were found for address_here when orders are below $35, correct?

    This is the expected behavior since you set the Free Shipping option requires a minimum order amount of $35 like below.

    It will only be displayed when the minimum order amount of $35 is displayed:

    Now, since you’ve enabled Flat Rate shipping without any condition I suppose, this will be the default shipping method since the minimum order amount of $35 is not met in the image below:

    Furthermore, if orders are above $35, both shipping methods will be displayed. Please note that I have not enabled the Flat Rate shipping method on my first screenshot above.

    Yes, that is correct.

    Yes indeed, it used to work fine until last plugin update. It is still set as shown in your picture. Though for some reason, the condition only works if the order is of $35 and above. If the order is below $35, then we get the “No shipping options were found for address_here“

    Since the latter mentioned is happening, that is why I also set a “Flat Rate” option on top of the “Free Shipping” option in the meantime. Many customers were not able to complete their orders and wrote to us about it.

    Again for the meantime, the “Flat Rate” option allowed us to recover some abandoned carts, though it looks weird for customers that purchase for $35 and above as they see the two options, and they obviously also need to pick the right “Free Shipping” option in order to avoid the flat rate. Only one option is shown to customers below $35. That’s the temporary fix I found so we avoid losing customers and it worked.

    I have also made some debugging by deactivating other plugins, though the error still occurs. Our database is also updated to latest version.

    Though, the two options are shown when the order is of $35 and over.

    As explained above, without the flat rate shipping method this behaviour is expected as the only available shipping method is not meeting the minimum 35$ requirement. To hide the flat shipping method when free shipping is available, you can check the snippets in this guide.

    If you’d like to have more conditional logic for shipping methods, I suggest you check the Conditional Shipping and Payments extension.

    Once again, Flat Rate was added after this behavior started happening. We had no Flat Rate option before this problem started occurring since last WooCommerce update.

    Furthermore, this is happening on both a live and staging environment.

    Yes indeed, it used to work fine until last plugin update. It is still set as shown in your picture. Though for some reason, the condition only works if the order is of $35 and above. If the order is below $35, then we get the “No shipping options were found for address_here

    if it under $35 it says “No shipping options were found for?address_here”.

    That sounds like the site is only using free shipping and flat rate was not configured properly, so WooCommerce does not have a shipping option to show when the order is less than $35.
