Free option for adding PayPal to a form?

    I wasn’t sure where to post this question, please forgive me if it is misplaced.

    I am creating a website for a small, nonprofit community garden that charges a $30 yearly fee for membership. The fee is very low to encourage low-income participants, so we are trying to avoid any unnecessary expenses setting up the website. The process for membership in the past has always been confusing and complicated, requiring multiple manual steps and in-person communication, so I am trying to automate as much of it as possible and enable new members to sign up via the website.

    I am currently using Make.com (formerly Integromat) to automatically complete some of these steps, like add the member data to our Google Contacts (where we keep our member records), and then also subscribe them to the Google Groups mailing list that provides weekly information to the member about meetings and workdays. I had hoped I could use Make.com to integrate PayPal into the membership application form to accept the membership fee as well, but I am not sure if that is possible.

    Are there any FREE plugins (or other options) that would allow me to integrate a PayPal payment into a form like the one I have created here?

    This page is using a Google Form that is embedded and then integrated with Google Contacts and Google Groups, so it would be nice if I could continue to use that same form, but if creating a new one to link to PayPal is necessary that would be fine as well, as long as I can collect the applicant’s name and contact info along with the payment.

    We do have a PayPal business account so we have API capability, I am just not sure how to collect a payment and Membership info at the same time so that the 2 things stay connected in our records. Having them send the payment separately via a plain PayPal button makes it more difficult to record whether a new membership application has been paid or not, especially since PayPal email address records don’t always match the person who has applied for membership.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  • Unfortunately, the form is not callable, so it is impossible to judge whether what it contains would require certain wordpress plugins. I can immediately think of the free Contact Form 7, for which there is also a free PayPal plugin:

    Thanks, I’m looking into these options!

    I thought contact form 7 was going to be the one for me, but I ran into an issue with the web hooks (apparently I’m not the only one, as I found other reports of the issue in the forum).

    I marking this as resolved, however, and will move my plugin specific questions elsewhere. Thanks!
