Both terms are meaning the same! It’s quite common in the Genesis Community to refer to Genesis as just “Genesis” or “Genesis Framework” or “Genesis Parent Theme” or even “Framework Theme” – the latter if in regards to a child theme for example.

2.0+ is the whole version branch of 2.0 — 2.0.2 and 2.0.x all belong to that. So, you’re fine with at least version 2.0 of it — though, it’s always recommended to run the latest version of Genesis.

So, does that mean that if the genesis-layout-extras plug-in says the following I can use it?

Yes, if you meant Genesis with that ??

From your quote above I see in the brackets that is actually the license of Genesis, the “GPL-2.0+”, that means it’s licensed as “General Public License, Version 2.0 or higher”, see: https://www.opensource.org/licenses/gpl-license.php

My plugin requires Genesis in version 2.0 or higher, if you recently bought Genesis (after August 2013), it is automatically compatible ??

My developer fixed me up with Genesis so I don’t know if it was after August. How do I find out if it’s compatible – just try it?
