Frame to Keep Images Side-by-Side

I’ve designed a site here…

…that has a series of images sitting side by side! It’s been fiddly to do, and not a perfect science, so I’d like to ask two questions if I may?

1) is there a plugin that I could use to drop an invisible frame into a post or page that I could then drop the linked images into?

2) [the main reason I’m looking at this] is there something I can do to stop the side-by-side images from jumping out of alignment and breaking the text up on a tablet? On mobile it’s fine, as the images all neatly align one on top the other. I’ve tried reducing the pixel width of the images, but they had to be stupidly small for it to work on a tablet, which then looked ridiculous on the phone and PC.

I’m using twenty-twelve and a child.
