Fourteen Extended Plugin only working in preview

Hi Zulfikar,
I installed Fourteen Extended plugin using your instructions, and then activated it through dashboard. I’m trying to change the height (shorten from the default 500px) of the featured slider on homepage. All was great as I could use the plugin through customise to do this. It showed exactly as I wanted I clicked save and publish. and refreshed the home page with the slider, which had reverted to its huge default height.

do you know why this could happen?, the changes I make with the plug in display, but then don’t stay. obviously im using t14, with Sequel child.
