    Hi,

I’m using the latest version of the free version of Neve theme, first of all, I really like it, the only theme I found with which I managed to create what I wanted.

Anyway, found a bug in the theme, it appears that the theme’s main body text color is effecting the text color in WordPress default and classic page editor.

Meaning, if the text color in Neve customizer is set to white, the text in the page editor becomes white as well and therefore invisible.

I’ve managed to bypass the issue for now by setting the text color to black and overriding it with custom CSS to show white text on the site’s front end but it’s just a temporary bypass, the issue should be looked at and fixed.

Also, a little suggestion, due to the sheer amount of settings in Neve customizer, maybe implement a search function to search for specific settings would be a good idea.

    Have a good weekend.

    Hi @vollachr,

    Thank you for your feedback.

I was able to replicate this on my end – when I set the body text as white in Customizer. I also set a dark background to make the text visible. Both of these (dark background and white text) are visible in the Gutenberg editor.

If you have a white text on Customizer, you might have a dark background as well. Can this be seen in the editor when you tested?

    Hi,

Yes, the background settings also effect the Gutenbrg editor, however, in my case, since I was using an image background for the frontend I left the background color as default, which caused it to be white on white in the editor.

You can see how that can be a problem…

however, I did test for a short period with dark background to see if it helped and it did change the editor BG, I just personally prefer to type in a light color editor with dark text.

This is a bug however, it doesn’t have to be like that as evident by the fact I managed to bypass it with custom CSS as I mentioned.

    Hi @vollachr,

Yes, I totally understand your point and in such a case when front-end view is different and you have some image set instead of using a background that is set in Customizer – it could be a problem.

However, currently, this is intended behavior and was done on purpose as for many users this is a benefit that they can see the same colors when editing the post as they do in the front-end of the website.

We are working on a better approach for defining colors and it will be released in the future but currently, I don’t have a timeline for this.

    Thank you!
