There is one more thing I can not update. I can not add categories without manually using shortcode on a page if I want them included.

That would be fine. I’m comfortable with the shorcode. The problem is that when you click “back to calendar” when viewing an event, it takes you to a different page than the one I created with the shortcode. I tried editing that page – the one it just calls calendar (calendar-3 on my site) with the shortcode instead, but it ignores the shortcode.

I tried clearing all the categories shown in the view and re-loading them. No change was evident no matter what I did under calendar settings.

I have spent so many hours on the calendar I believe I’m tied to it, now. I just need help getting it to work.

The page I can not change includes the cat id’s in the url – https://lynnhappens.com/calendar-3/cat_ids~2234,2232,2236,2235,2241,2233,2237,2238,2239/

The page I made with shortcode is https://lynnhappens.com/beta-calendar/ and the shortcode is [ai1ec view=”agenda” cat_name=”community,DJ,Event,Fundraiser,Government,Karaoke,Live music,Open mic,Sports,Theatre”]

I added that shortcode to the first page, but I think it is just ignoring it for the cat_ids

The category it is ignoring is Theatre.

By ignore, I mean it is not highlighted in the drop-down of categories and therefore is not listed automatically. Especially by this spring, I will need Theatre listed automatically. We have a local theatre group with a show coming up.

Hi, are you sure that in the settings you didn’t pre-select some categories?

Anyway i think that the fact that clicking “back to calendar” doesn’t bring you back to the shortcode is a bug

The problem seems to have fixed itself. Only, I don’t exactly know how. I was playing around with a number of features of both this plugin and my theme. I should have kept a better watch on all the variables.
