    You’ll likely run into several issues with this. The front end editor, TinyMCE, is does not handle code snippets well. It doesn’t interface with backticks and the way the code snippets are stored and escaped.

    This is one of the reasons why the editor was removed/disabled from bbPress core and no longer used on bbPress.org.

    If your uses are going to be posting code snippets I recommend not using the TinyMCE editor or asking them to post the snippets using Pastie or Gists.

    Makes perfect sense (I’m using my homebrew editor on my bbPress and simply disabled the backtick fun (unfortunately I had to modify the bbPress plugin files for that).
