Forum Bugs and Broken Things

  • Since feedback is not wanted about this at the moment can I vent my spleen here. I used to be able to see clearly and quickly what topics I had started and what topics had replies. Ok it wasn’t pretty but I could easily find something if I needed to refer to it.

    Now, with the usual WP curse of overspacing I have pages and pages and pages to scroll through, and less useful clues as to the content.

    A list of ‘Replies’ often gives little clue to the original question. With hundreds of replies now split over multiple pages how do you find the relevant question you want to refer to? It’s not how you remember things. And it’s not how you find things.

    Why isn’t there an option to show all? Why is there so much space? It may look nice but IT’S NOT AS FUNCTIONAL! And I’m not going to plough through them all to make favourites.

    If you’re looking to vent your spleen… I get that the new forums are frustrating for now but this upgrade was a long time due. Yes, the new forums is a work in progress and no, this was not done “just to look nice”.

    The current code base makes so much more options available. It’s not apparent to regular forum users but things such as the spam fighting capabilities are night and day.
