After struggling for god knows how long, I created this WordPress layout based on a forum:

That looks pretty cool. Only thing I don’t like is how the background flickers when scrolling.

Definitely original. But don’t you fear you’ll get lots of visitors asking “how do I post a new thread on this forum?” :)

Yeah it does flicker because of the odd pattern in the background. I was considering changing the background to a solid colour so it wouldn’t do that.

I don’t think I would have that trouble… (At least I sure as heck hope not) The layout lacks a few things that makes a forum a forum. Like a navigation, a login area (or register) and other random stuff. And I’m pretty sure they would get it because they don’t see a list of forums either.

Have you tried using your background stationary? I usually don’t like that at all, but in that case, maybe it would work better, because the stripes are kinda nice otherwise. ??

Oh thanks for the suggestion Oriecat. I just fixed the background and it now doesn’t flicker when you scroll.

I like the layout, but it’s hard to read. Not enough contrast between text/background. Otherwise, looks great.
