Former WordPress.com won’t upload

    Hi

    I’ve had a proper scout around on the topics of permissions, wp-content, uploads etc but I still can’t get my former wp.com blog xml to upload to my new wp.org site. I can’t find my htaccess file with Filezilla either. I know I have a world of trouble ahead with permalinks but I’d still like to get some content uploaded to take the bare look off things.

    My blog is co-hosted by WP and Blacknight (Ireland)…and this is the kind of file path twittery I have “The uploaded file could not be moved to /usr/local/pem/vhosts/122761/webspace/httpdocs/wwwroot/domain.tld/wp-content/uploads.” I’m not surprised that paths like these make WP bilious but how can it be solved?

    usually you can chmod /wp-content/uploads to 777 and it will work
    when done, put back to chmod 755

    @samboll, Hurrah it worked! Two days ago I would not have known or cared about chmod….now I see, as through a glass, darkly ?? Thanks a million
