Formatting rhyming text and poetry

I’m trying to write some blogs that includes rhymes, songs and poetry but have found that when I hit “return” at the end of each line, it creates formatting for a new paragraph (i.e., a significant gap between the lines). Is there any way I can enter this text with single spacing? Thank you
