• Since upgrading to 4.0, one page of my main install is looking totally wonky and I cannot figure out why.

Here’s some of our normal looking pages for reference:

    https://www.thoughtlessmusic.com/releases/
    https://www.thoughtlessmusic.com/events/

Content down the left, widgets on the right, white background.

However, our Podcast page is now completely bizarro:

    https://www.thoughtlessmusic.com/podcast-2/ (let it fully load)

The background is inexplicably black, effectively blanking out all the post text, and all the sidebar widgets have somehow been pushed to the bottom of the page’s left side!

I realize there are a lot of posts on this page, but it was working fine prior to the upgrade.

I’ve already attempted disabling the Blubrry Podcast plug-in that we’re using to host the audio files to see if that’s the issue, but doing so had zero effect.

I’m not exactly a WordPress expert. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

At the same time, did you also try flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches

Yep – I’ve cleared the W3 Total Cache as well as my browser cache. I’ve tested it on multiple browsers as well. Not sure how to clear the server cache though.

    Also try:

resetting the plugins foldervia FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems (because the hooks remain unless plugins completely removed or some plugins stick around in cached files. So by renaming the folder, you break them and force them inactive).
    – If that does not resolve the issue, then try MANUALLY re-uploading all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first!
    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php
BTW, if you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. It’s a great safety net.
