Formatting Error in Email Customization

When I write my business’ name in the customizer form fields using an apostrophe in the title as intended then the plugin saves it with a backslash in addition to the apostrophe. So instead of “Darden’s” my name displays as “Darden\’s”. Additionally, every time I send another test email I continue to get more backslashes added to the existing ones. So my name in the email sender and subject fields ends up looking something like “Darden\\\\\’s” the more I send test emails.
I have made sure that I am running all the most recently update versions of WordPress, theme and plugin. I also did try to do a reinstall of the plugin with same results.
