Formatting Comments for Contributors/Admins

  • I’d like to see a minimal amount of formatting options available in comments for registered users of a blog that are contributors or higher (essentially everyone except subscribers, though I guess this could be an option for each blog to define which groups get the formatting bar).

    The formatting available for messages in this forum would be more than enough. Even just bold, italic and link would be enough for me.

    I have some people who respond to comments on a blog I maintain and I’d like to have an easy way for them to link to articles without having to manually type the code.

    To clarify, I’ve installed several plugins to get this functionality, but can’t seem to find one that limits access to user groups. That’s the real request, but maybe a plugin author can add that feature to their plugin?
