• I’ve been trying to format this blog post. What I’m formatting in editor is not what’s getting published, with regards to spacing, bolding headers etc. Also the font is inconsistent when published.

I’ve been going back and forth trying to fix it.

Now I seem to be stuck in block editor (which I’ve never used before). I cannot see how to toggle back and forth between visual and html any longer.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Have you tried:

    – Deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Twenty, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

It sounds to me like the theme may not have editor styles for the new block editor. This could be why you’re experiencing a different design in the editor than how it looks on the frontend.

To toggle back and forth between the Visual and Code editors, click the three dots icon in the upper right corner of the screen. You should see an option for “Code editor.” Selecting that will take you to the code editor.

@t-p and @mapk thanks for your replies.

I’ve tried switching out to Twenty Twenty theme with no change to the problem.

I’ve also tried removing my plugins one by one and testing to see if that’s the problem. No resolution there either.

When in post editing, look for three dots in the upper right corner. Click on it, and you will see option for “visual editor” and “code editor”.
