Form validation and masking on Caldera Form’s Phone Number (better) Field

On my calandra form I have it set up with field type of phone number (better).On the USA country code, it is showing that a 7 digit number is okay – but it is not a real number. How can I change it, so that will just show as a valid number when it is the correct 9 digits (999-999-9999).
Also how can I add masking to the form phone number field so that it shows up like this (999) 999-9999 when a user enters their number?
