What type of setup is required to track source? I see in the setup example, UTM variables are used. Do you need to set up UTM in order to have this track? Or are those in place to accurately attribute into GA?

You need to include the UTM variable in the URL which will send the data to Google Analytics. The plugin takes the UTM information and adds the information to hidden form fields so that the data can also be stored in a CRM / 3rd party system.

What if i’m just looking to track original traffic source? I want to know if someone came from organic, paid, social, etc. will this plugin allow that?

It sounds like you are looking for referrer information, which the plugin does not currently support. However, this is something that I can add, so look for an update in a week or so.

    you sir are a saint.

I’m looking to add a “ghost tag” to my forms that will auto detect what traffic source generated the form submission. It’s a long complicated process that my client goes through with their forms, and they have no way of tracking the lead source.

Please let me know if you still think this sounds do able.

    Thanks!
