    I’ve been having issues with CF7 over the past few weeks, since perhaps a recent update

    All my CF7 forms fail to submit on the first attempt. I receive the following error

    “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”

    If I click Send for a 2nd time, the form submits correctly

    Initially I thought this was a error with the From field on the form. Incorrectly formatted so the form, but it looks correct. The email address I am using is from the same domain as the website.

    Please any ideas guys??

    Just to add

    I am using the Configure SMTP plugin. Via gmail (smtp.gmail.com)

    This will successfully send a test email without error

    The error message is:-
    “Sender’s message failed to send”

    I believe I have found the cause of the issue

    For the CF7 form to work – the Subject field has to be empty!

    Any test or fields in the subject cause the “Sender’s message failed to send”

    The From email address also needs to be the same as the one set in Configure SMTP plugin

    After further testing. It seems these changes are totally successful, so would still welcome some advice
