form submissions do not send to email

just installed this plugin, created a few forms, and tested them but no email received. installed a “check email” plugin and it works, so I know email sending in WP is not broken… installed “contact form db” plugin and it shows the forms have been submitted. not sure what else to try. Also having the error “Sorry, you are not allowed to edit posts in this post type.” when clicking to see the submissions from each form. basically it seems this plugin is broken.
