Form Select Option Limit

I am currently trying to set up a form with a limit for each option in the dropdown. The settings on the select field say “Limit Submission: You can limit submissions of each option to a certain number, and once an option reaches the submission limit, we’ll hide that option from the dropdown list.” I have set both time slots to a limit of 3, but when I test the entries I can make unlimited submissions of each time slot and the option is not removed.
