    Hi,

I am using WPForms Lite and considering a Pro upgrade. However, I am running into a persistent problem with notification emails.

I created a form and set up a notification email with some text and {all_fields} in the body. This worked fine for months, I received the complete notification email for every submission. A few weeks ago I noticed the body of the notification emails suddenly was empty / blank — the subject line is still there, but the body contains neither the text nor anything from {all_fields}.

I double-checked my form, my WPForms and notification settings, made sure WPForms and WP itself are up-to-date, and followed https://wpforms.com/docs/setup-form-notification-wpforms/ and https://wpforms.com/docs/troubleshooting-email-notifications/

However, the problem persists: I receive notification emails 100% of the time but the body is always blank.

I have found some posts related to empty notification emails but no solutions. Any help/advice is appreciated. This is critical to me as I am currently loosing the details of all form submissions.

    Thanks!

(Note that I can’t post the URL to my form as my site is limited to a group of users and password-protected. But I am happy to provide more details and screenshots if needed)

When you have sometime, can you please share a screenshot of the notification settings so I can take a look?

    Hi @teba99,

I’m Ralden, jumping in here for?Prashant.?

Looking at your screenshot, it seems everything is ok. In case it helps, to troubleshoot an issue with notifications, you can check that your form notification settings are configured correctly by following our tutorial.

As your notification settings are correct, the issue is likely related to the server sending emails from your site.

To resolve email delivery issues like this, I recommend you configure an SMTP plugin, and this will likely solve the issue. We have an article with a list of recommended SMTP options and links to their setup tutorials.

    I hope this helps ??

    Hi @rsouzaam,

Thanks for the reply. I’ll try this, but I am confused why this would be a sending issue since emails are being sent (it’s just the body that’s missing). Do you think the server is removing the body?

Also, i enabled logging in WPFORMS to get more info on what is being sent, but no logs seem to be created. Should i see logs for notifications?

    Thanks

    Hi @teba99,

Thanks for the following up questions!

Do you think the server is removing the body??Yes, the server might be likely removing the content from the body due to security rules, or something like this. To test this, you could go to?WPForms ? Settings ? Email tab, and change the template to?Plain text?(screenshot).

We had similar cases in the past with the same issue, and using an SMTP plugin solved it.

Should i see logs for notifications??We have logs for notifications only for some specific cases, like using conditional logic. Since your notifications are being sent and the issue is only with the content in the body, it won’t be generated a log in this case.

In case you want to debug issues sending notifications, you could use a plugin like WP Mail SMTP, which has this resource available.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi @rsouzaam,

I found time to look into this now.

I installed the WP SMTP plugin and configured it to use my email provider. That seems to have done the trick, as you predicted. I now receive notification emails with the content as expected.

I think this is solved now. Thanks for your help!
